Local LogisticsShuttle bus service A complimentary bus service will be offered between the hotels in Noordwijk and ESTEC. The service is provided via the company Brouwers Tours and the bus will be clearly marked with an ESTEC sign in the front. The bus will make two stops in Noordwijk in the morning, before proceeding to ESTEC. The two same stops will be served by the return service in the evening. The shuttle will stop first at the bus stop called Vuurtorenplein at the north end of Parallel Boulevard near the light house square. There are two bus stops on the two opposite sides of the road, but the ESTEC bus will stop on the west side (i.e. the side towards the sea. See details on this map. The second shuttle stop will be at the bus stop called Pickeplein at the roundabout with the same name. The bus will stop at the bus stop outside of the Alexander Hotel (see details on this map). Please check the map of Noordwijk to locate the stop nearest to your hotel. Hotels are indicated by ther initials in RED, while the bus stops are in BLUE. LH means Light House, PP means PickePlein. Hotel Royal is off the map, on the right-hand side, as it is not near the beach. The bus schedule is as follows:
Note that there will be no return service on the last day of the conference, as it is assumed that most participants will leave that afternoon from ESTEC for the airport or train station. Please do not forget to take your luggage with you on the bus if you are leaving that day. Taxis can be arranged directly from ESTEC via the secretariat or the ESTEC reception desk. Access to ESTECIn order to enter the ESTEC site, the first day of the conference you will need to register at the Security Gate at the entrance. The bus will deliver you directly at the gate and you will need to present a valid piece of ID (passport, national ID card, driver licence, etc.) to the guards in order to obtain a temporary pass to enter the premises. You will then board the bus once again and will be taken directly to the main building where the ESLAB takes place (room Newton). A personal badge, valid for the entire duration of the conference, will be given to you at the ESLAB registration desk. Participants who have not already paid their registration fee online will be required to do so at that time in order to receive the badge and conference material. Credit cards and cash only are accepted and the late registration fee is 298 Euro. Participants with a personal badge will not need to stop by the Security Gate after the first day (badges will be checked by a guard on board the bus upon entrance). If you do not take the bus the first day or if you come to ESTEC on your own, you will need to stop by the Security Gate the first time to receive a temporary badge, as indicated above. Your personal bagde will be given to you once you reach the ESLAB registration desk. There are some rules and regulations concerning the access to ESTEC. Please review them here. Internet access There will be a number of computer terminals as well as a wireless router for access to the internet. Both the terminals and the wireless service are available in the area where coffee breaks take place. For security reasons, the ESTEC firewall blocks a number of internet ports. Unfortunately, it is normally not possible to access e-mail via the IMAP server. You should plan to use the web interface of your e-mail server while at ESTEC. Secure FTP and SSH sessions are allowed. Telephone numbers During the conference, the secretariat can be reached by telephone at the registration desk on the telephone number +31 71 565 5123.
